The place I am living for the summer was made to be filmed with a Super 8 camera, shot from the passenger window of a driving car. In the shower, I can look out the window to our backyard, which is really the Sarengeti, instead of my increasingly lumpy body, which is growing more terrifying everyday.

I've also spent the last few days holding a four-week-old baby kitty. It just learned to walk. And to see. And it's ears just seperated from its head. You cannot feel badly when you are playing with him. Last night - sweaty, unattractive, and in the middle of a social scene where I felt insecure - I felt like a loser. But then Kimba stretched his little teeny tiny arms out of the fanny pack, then his head, then made some tiny noises, and it was alright.

How many times would you let your blood be drawn for it to be worth $1,350 to you? Apparently my answer is 45 times, because that's what I'm doing for the medical study I'm signed up for.

Walker said some sweet thing to me I can't specifically remember now, and I said:

"We're in IKEA. And today I did all of your laundry."

Pretty much married and living in the country.
