Everything moves so quickly.
Audrey is leaving soon which really makes my heart ache.
We sat on her porch for hours tonight and watched all the evening creatures come in: mourning doves, then lightening bugs, then the occasionally light from a walker's flashlight.
---
I presented my proposal for the mural tonight, and should (hopefully) find out in the morning. We (ze artistes) had to wait in the hallway like children, without even a chair to sit on. The last presenter ran in late, sweaty and frazzled. "Are you nervous?" he said. "I get so nervous when I have to talk in front of a group of people."
"I'm not nervous," I said. "I love it."
James - the first presenter - came out of the meeting room. "Tough crowd," he said, "they're brutal."
We're not very nice.
---
There is still so much to say about that most recent night at the Thunderbird. Those men jacking off about Vermeer:
"He just has the most poetic eye, it's astounding."
I was sassy and yelled at them from the bar to name me one other painting by Vermeer besides 'Girl with a Pearl Earring.' Randall hushed me.
Lisa, Audrey, and I were laughing at the concept of having a "non-art boyfriend"; Randall laughed at our laughter. Ha.
And R.'s take on vacationing with my parents:
"I wasn't very nervous...... I'm pretty awesome."
